Events: Fleet Awards
2009 Awardees
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009. On Tuesday afternoon, Matt Hale, Rick Wallace and Don Emerson from the Columbia-Willamette Clean Cities Coalition (CWCCC) presented Jim Green from Kettle Foods an award highlighting Kettle Foods' commitment to using alternative fuels in their company vehicle fleet.
The Columbia-Willamette Clean Cities Coalition is one of ninety nationwide federally sponsored coalitions committed to encouraging public and private fleet operators to convert to alternative fuels where economically practical to reduce petroleum consumption in the transportation sector. The primary objective of the Columbia Willamette Clean Cities Coalition is to "promote the use of domestically-produced alternative transportation fuels" because it best captures the entire scope of the Clean Cities program.
Kettle Foods uses numerous sustainable business practices. They continue to run a growing fleet of company vehicles on biodiesel produced locally at SeQuential Biofuels. In fact, 100% of the waste vegetable oil from the Kettle Foods production process is converted into biodiesel.
