Held June 20, 2007
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Embassy Suites Hotel at PDX
Agenda
Oregon Department of Energy
Michael Grainey - Director
Mike Grainey will provide an update on the energy-based packages currently making their way through the legislative process in Oregon. The collective punch of these legislative proposals will put Oregon in the forefront of the alternative fuel industry.

Pacific Ethanol
Tim Raphael
Pacific Ethanol will open the Northwest's first large-scale ethanol plant this summer. They have an efficient business model and plan on selling product in the local market. Find out what this could mean for you and the Northwest.

Northwest Regional Ethanol Distribution Network
Sharon Banks Cascade Sierra Solutions
The Network Regional Ethanol Distribution Network is a public/private partnership with the goal to establish a wholesale ethanol E85 rack and 15 retail distribution points along the I-5 corridor. The project has received a federal grant and will use state incentives as well.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Robert Wallace
The federal government has an aggressive plan to lessen consumption of petroleum fuels from changes in Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) to a national alternative fuel standard that will significantly increase the use of biofuels. Additionally, strides are being made to bring cellulosic ethanol to the mainstream. Robert Wallace will bring us up-to-date on these promising advancements.

Trillium Fiber Fuels
Chris Beatty
Trillium Fiber Fuels focuses on converting regionally significant cellulosic feedstocks, such as straw and softwood residues, into ethanol. Chris Beatty will discuss the biomass opportunities and advancements in cellulosic technologies.
National Association of Fleet Managers Cellulosic Ethanol Update (.8 MB PDF)

Conoco Phillps
Dan Sinks
Renewable diesel has been making the news lately as another technological pathway to creating a biomass/diesel-blended fuel. The technology can be used to either co-process with traditional refinery feedstock as part of the refining process or produce it in pure form where it can be blended with pure diesel fuel. The concept is to process the biomass feedstock using heat or heat in combination with pressure and/or catalysts to decompose the fats or oils into short-chain diesel-range hydrocarbons.

Carson Oil
Jeff Rouse
Carson Oil's portable above-ground tank and dispensing package is just the ticket for providing a lower cost solution for alternative fuel availability to fleets and retailers.

Northwest Biofuel Association
Robert Grott
Robert Grott will lead a panel of biodiesel users as they discuss their experiences with start up and continued use of biodiesel blended fuels.

Panel Consists of:
