MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: AAA Oregon/Idaho

AAA Oregon/Idaho is a local not-for-profit organization serving more than 900,000 AAA members in Oregon and Southern Idaho.  AAA has been the advocate for the traveler and driver for more than 100 years, providing roadside assistance, travel, discounts, financial and insurance services, and more to more than 64 million members across North America.

AAA stands for mobility for drivers, riders, pedestrians, travelers, and commuters. Towing vehicles to safety, changing tires, and jump-starting batteries is just the beginning. AAA also provides mobile electric car charging and bicycle roadside assistance. AAA is always innovating to get their members back on the go – no matter how they go.

Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions

AAA continues to innovate and evolve its services to meet the needs of its members. AAA now has Level II and Level III charging stations at many of their Service Center locations in Oregon and Idaho.  The chargers at these locations are open to the public.

AAA was the first motor club in North America to offer a roadside assistance truck with the capability to charge electric vehicles on the roadside. AAA’s mobile EV charging will provide up to a 30-minute Level II charge using the Blink IQ-200-M mobile charging unit with the standard J1772 plug for 10 or more miles of charge to your EV. AAA now has the ability to charge the majority of electric vehicles, including electric motorcycles, with this standard plug type.

The mobile electric vehicle charging truck is very similar to AAA’s other light services vehicles. The truck is equipped to allow AAA’s technicians to provide traditional AAA Roadside Assistance capabilities to all motorists, such as battery testing and replacements, jump starts, tire changes, and fuel delivery.
