In Oregon, it is becoming increasingly accessible for fleets to transition to alternative fuel vehicles due to state incentives and infrastructure programs.
The Oregon Departments of Department of Transportation and Environmental Quality will be overviewing opportunities for fleet electrification in an upcoming webinar on Wednesday, December 3 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. This webinar is open to anyone involved with fleet operations to learn more about funding incentives and to provide feedback on future program plans.
During the event, ODOT staff will be discussing deployment plans for medium- and heavy-duty vehicle EV charging stations. These public stations will be built along Interstate 5 and 84 to address the growing need for charging infrastructure as fleets transition to electric vehicles. The project will utilize grant funding from federal programs to develop the stations. Attendees are encouraged to provide feedback on the infrastructure plans, as the ODOT is still in the preliminary planning stages of the project.
The DEQ will be discussing the Clean Fuels Program, which is a financial incentive program for public fleets purchasing electric vehicles. Through this program, fleets can receive advance credits on medium- and heavy- duty vehicles to reduce the upfront cost of EVs. Light-duty vehicles are also eligible for advanced credits if an owner is electrifying their entire light-duty fleet in 15 years. The DEQ will overview the program and application process, which will begin in early 2026. Attendees are also welcome to contribute feedback on the incentive program in preparation for its upcoming launch.
